New Orleans, Pontalba Building

0019.jpg ThumbnailsHancock, Church Family Dwelling House

1849-51 by Baroness Pontalba, on the Place d’Armes. Although built in the style of Baron Haussmann's Paris, including first recorded use of cast-iron galleries in New Orleans, it was built long after the colony had been handed over to Spain and then the US.
